Prepare for your spa experience
Here are some tips to help you prepare for your
spa experience:
Hydration: If you're having a massage or
body treatment, or are using the sauna or steam
room, drink plenty of water or juice. Adequate
hydration before and after services helps enhance
the detoxifying effects, a natural result of massage
and most other body treatments.
Food: Arrive satiated, neither hungry nor
full. Avoid heavy meals at least an hour before
or after your treatment. We would also recommend
that you avoid alcohol immediately before or after
spa treatments. We'll serve you some light, healthy
snacks and refreshments after your treatment.
Arrive early: Plan on arriving at least 30
minutes before your appointment to allow your
mind and body to prepare for the whole experience.
What to wear: Whatever you find comfortable.
Easy care fabrics are best, as you may have moisturizing
oils and natural products applied to your body.
We provide robes, slippers and towels for you
to lounge in. Keep make-up minimal, or go natural.
If you've something to attend to afterwards, you
may wish to bring along hair and makeup toiletries.
What to bring: If you're using the sauna
or steam bath, you may want to bring a bathing
suit. Otherwise, bring as little as possible.
Although our spa treatment rooms have wardrobes
for you to hang your clothes, it is best if you
leave valuables in the hotel's safe. Besides,
jewelry can get in the way of a massage or body
application, and if you're having a heat treatment,
the heat can be transferred through jewelry, and
cause skin burns. |

4.
Enjoy your spa experience
Don't rush. Tell yourself to slow down.
Calm your mind before your treatment. Empty yourself
of all thoughts of work and worries, as this will
not be conducive to you fully enjoying the treatment.
If you can't shake it all off, try this: take
a deep breath, exhale, imagine packing up and
leaving your concerns and worries outside the
door.
Ease
into the experience.
Let the serene music, soft lighting, fragrant
oils and incense, and the peaceful and quiet setting
of our Spa retreats embrace you. Your therapist
will be there to welcome you, answer your questions,
guide you to the treatment room and show you where
you can change into our robe. We've set aside
30 minutes within your spa session for you to
unwind and to enjoy a cooling mint footbath, an
exhilarating shower and a soothing herbal drink
with refreshments. You may wish to shower before
your treatment. A warm shower washes away the
tensions of the day, along with makeup, fragrances
and lotions that may interact with products used
in your treatment. Warm water also prepares your
body to absorb the full benefits of the natural
substances used in the treatment. |

Clothing.
Most of our body and massage treatments are best
enjoyed without clothing. To protect your privacy
at all times, our therapists will drape your body
with sheets or large towels and only expose the
part they are working on. However, if you prefer
to leave underwear on, go right ahead.
Relax. Take
slow, deep breaths before your treatment begins.
Envision every muscle in your body relaxing, starting
with your face and all the way down to your toes.
Open yourself up - allow your body and mind to
enjoy the experience. Close your eyes and immerse
yourself totally in the moment. Bask in the warmth
and comfort of the human touch. Soak up all the
luxurious sensations and let yourself drift off
to bliss as soothing music plays in the background.
Communicate
with your therapist. This is your time and you
should enjoy it to the fullest. Whether you wish
the room temperature, the amount of pressure exerted
adjusted, the music volume or selection changed,
or you would rather have silence, tell our therapist.
They want to ensure that you have a wonderful
experience, and are dedicated to making it so
just for you. |
